Polish GCSE
GCSE
Some previous knowledge of Polish is necessary (e.g. NOCN level 1 and 2).
This is a fairly intensive and express course, which covers the AQA CSE short course in 1 year.
This is a 30 week course.
Course Content
The course covers the language needed to cope with a range of everyday situations which might arise during a visit to Poland or when hosting a visit from Polish friends (eg asking for and giving directions, getting information at the tourist office, checking into a hotel, travelling, shopping, eating out) and develops general conversational skills (talking about ourselves, our families, interests, jobs, studies, etc). Listening and speaking skills are developed in particular, to help you prepare for the examination. Though grammar is not a major part of the course, we do look at the basic workings of the language.
Please note that this is an examination course. Students will sit the following AQA-set GCSE examinations at the end of the course:
Listening 50%
Speaking 50%
Materials Needed
