  • Building Better Lives
    In July 2012, eighteen students and two members of staff will travel to Romania to do community work. The students will work with Outlook Expeditions to raise funds to allow them to travel and work on the Better Homes Project in Romania.

  • Tipped for the Top!
    Nine students studying at QE have been offered places at the universities of Oxford and Cambridge. Competition for Oxbridge entry is extremely competitive and offers are only made to students who perform well at interview and who are likely to attain outstanding A Level results.

  • Debating Matters
    Four students from QE took part in the qualifying round of the national Debating Matters Competition hosted by Bede 6th Form College, Billingham. Emma Woods, Tom Charlton, Victoria Theakston and Tom Wilson debated ‘Press Freedom’ in the first round and ‘Scottish Independence’ in the final heat. They won both rounds and will now progress to the regional heat in Newcastle next March

    Well over 100 students at QE took part in the Christmas History Quiz.This annual event aims to bring the end of term to a fun conclusion whilst cementing students’ love of History.

  • December in Berlin
    In December, thirteen students studying AS or A Level German went to Berlin for four days. Touring Berlin by night started the trip off, with visits to the Christmas Market at Schloss Charlottenburg and the Reichstag and the Brandenburg Gate which are spectacularly lit up on an evening.
