Teamwork

GNVQ Intermediate Business students recently took part in a Young Enterprise team-building challenge organised by the Territorial Army at Bramble Hill Farm in Middlesbrough.

Students had to work in teams of six and demonstrate effective leadership, planning and preparation, whilst organising their team to work within tight time constraints. The team-building activities included dismantling rifles, a blindfold challenge, building a bird table and fixing wheels on a tank.

The College's team, made up of Laura Websdale, Michael Jopling, Harpreet Sandhu, Mark Sims, Mark Barras and Scott Jolly, attained second place and were very close to winning.

Teacher Clare Russ commented:

'The students did really well and I was very proud of them. They clearly demonstrated their leadership, interpersonal and teamworking skills and were extremely competitive. They had fun and enjoyed putting into practice what they had learned in class.'
