Fude's Success in National Competition

Fude\'s Success in National Competition

Fude are a well-known local rock band made up of students studying at QE. Formed three years ago, the group won last year's Battle of the Bands Competition at College and have gone on to stage gigs all over this country and have even performed in Germany.

Recently they won their way through to the semi-finals of the National Battle of the Bands at Wolverhampton, but missed out on winning a place in the final by one point; Manchester based group 'Dust' pipped them at the post.

All the members of Fude are second year students and next year they are seriously thinking about taking a year out, before going on to university, to try and build on the band's success. Jack Hardwick is the lead singer, Sam Cull plays lead guitar, Matthew Roberts is on the drums and Adam Austin provides the bass.

Jack says:

"Being in Fude is a great experience - it's really fun. We've played in some interesting places and have learned a lot in the three years we've been together."
