Netball Stars Of The Future

Netball Stars Of The Future

Two students studying for their A Levels at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, Darlington are achieving great things in national level netball. Rachel Bird and Rachel Dauber attended trials over the summer for Team Northumbria which represents North East England in the new Netball Super League, the highest level of domestic competition in the sport. The League features world-class athletes competing against each other to become the country’s number one netball team and has good media coverage on Sky Sports.

PE teacher, Mark Scott comments:

"The girls beat off stiff competition to be selected and are now part of Team Northumbria’s Youth squad. Having made an instant good impression, they have now been invited to join the National League Team for training every week - a fantastic achievement. To be training with some of the best netball players in the country at such a young age is a fantastic experience and a great accomplishment for the girls that will improve their play, skills and confidence. They are now aiming to break into the senior squad to become fully fledged players in the National League in the next few years."
