Cycling for Children in Need
Students and staff at QE cycled for 6 hours to raise money for Children in Need.
An exercise bike was moved from the gym to the Student Common Room and someone cycled continuously from 9.00am - 3.00pm. The event kicked off at 9.00am with the Principal, David Heaton, doing the first stint, followed by Vice Principal Bob Tuddenham.
The Student Association organised the cycle ride and it was linked to Darlington Youth Service's initiative to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats for Children in Need.
Melanie Barker, Student Services Co-ordinator, commented:
'It was a fun event with everyone in the College - students and staff - getting involved. More than 80 miles were covered and £250 was raised for Children in Need.'
