What Am I Looking At? What Do I Think?

A new, exciting evening art course begins at QE in January 2007.

The six-week course, scheduled between 6.00pm and 7.30pm, starts on Thursday, 18th January and offers a chance to explore the visual arts in an innovative way.

The tutor, Christopher Wardale, who, as well as teaching Art at the College, is a professional art critic and artist and well-known lecturer on stained glass, explains:

'There will be times to look at works of art, times to hear about them, times to talk about them and times to get to know something of the skills used by art critics.

You don't need to know anything about art.

You don't need to know how to paint or draw.

You do need a sense of humour, enthusiasm and an ability to see 'out of the frame'.

The course will be thematic and show how visual artists have used various subjects from the Middle Ages to the present day.'

Other courses on offer in January include Archaeology, IT, Musical Keyboard and Modern Languages - French, Italian and Spanish.
