Fundraising Bazaar at Ziza!

A Level Travel & Tourism students held an Italian themed night at Ziza's restaurant to raise money for an educational visit to Rome in April. All aspects of the event were arranged by the group as part of their course and the evening entailed a raffle, quiz, best dressed competition and a promise auction.

Student Sarah Duncan, who co-ordinated the event, said:

'The project was a huge success from start to finish. Although it was challenging we put our skills to the test and proved that we could work effectively as a team. We'd particularly like to thank the businesses which donated raffle prizes.'

Sukhs and Sandy, co-owners of Ziza Restaurant in Bondgate, Darlington, were delighted to host the night for the young adults from the College. They commented:

'The planning and organisation of the whole event was meticulous and led to a fun packed night enjoyed by guests, organisers and ourselves. This event was especially close to our hearts having attended the College ourselves some years ago. It's great to see that the safe learning environment that existed then continues to allow the students to participate in such exciting projects as this. We wish the students success and look forward to working closely with the College in the future.'

Teacher Melanie Barker concluded:

'The students were a credit to the College for organising an event of this scale. The effort and professionalism of the group was outstanding!'
