Anglo - German Fellowship Programme
Harriet Endersby and Sophie Aisbitt have won places on the British Council's Anglo-German Fellowship Programme and will be off to Germany in February to spend two weeks in Mülheim an der Ruhr. They are studying AS Level German at QE and will attend the College’s partner school Otto-Pankok Schule, staying with German families while they complete research projects.
Penny Porter, Head of German at QE comments:
“I was absolutely delighted to hear that Harriet and Sophie had been awarded places on the Anglo-German Fellowship Programme. Both are exceptionally hard-working and thoroughly deserve this opportunity to spend time in Germany to put their German skills into practice. The visit will help to boost their confidence and prepare them for their German speaking exams which will take place shortly after they return. They are both looking forward to the experience and attended a briefing at the British Council offices in London on 15 January in preparation for their visit.”
Sophie comments:
“This is an amazing opportunity and I can’t wait to go. I hope to study German at university and my ambition is to eventually spend some time working in Germany.”
Harriet adds:
“I am really looking forward to the challenge of communicating in another language and to learn new things. I'm also excited about the prospect of meeting new people, especially my host family and experiencing a different way of life.”
