Student Leaders

Elections have been held for new leaders of the Student Association at QE. Five candidates stood for the post of President of the Association and all conducted lively campaigns to secure the votes of their peers.

Robbie Atkinson won and is now President of the Student Association with Lucy Atkinson coming a very close second to secure the post of Vice President. Robbie and Lucy will represent the views of students, will be governors of the College and will lead an executive student team to organise social activities and to promote charity fundraising events. Their roles are very demanding!

Robbie says:

“I was elated, shocked and surprised to win as almost 1500 students exercised their right to vote and it was a very tough campaign. I want to motivate the whole student community to be involved in the Student Association and plan to organise more student events that will help to fully engage students in College life.”

Lucy echoes Robbie’s thought and adds:

"I’m delighted to have the support of the students and am looking forward to the challenges ahead. I think Robbie and I will work well together and my aim is to represent the views of students and enhance the student experience at QE. By the way, even though Robbie and I share the same surname, we are not related!”

Robbie is studying Geography, History, Philosophy and Psychology and hopes to go on to university to study Geography and Town Planning. Lucy’s Advanced Levels are in History, English Literature, English Language and Politics. Her ambition is to read International Politics at university and to eventually secure a position in the Diplomatic Service.
