Have Fun and Be Healthy Before Christmas

Have Fun and Be Healthy Before Christmas

Before the excesses of Christmas, staff and students at QE indulged in a health week. During the week all sorts of activities - some fun, some serious - took place to raise the profile of a healthy lifestyle and the benefits of it.

There was lunchtime circuit training, self defence classes, a dance afternoon, a pedometer challenge, a hula hoop challenge and a walk to College day. However, the culmination of the week was on Friday 16th December when there was a fancy dress dance. Staff and students paid £1 to 'strut their stuff' and dance to classics like 'Time Warp', the 'Birdie Song', 'Cha Cha Slide' and 'YMCA'. People certainly dressed to impress and there was an array of costumes including a number of Father Christmases, Fairies, Birdies and Snowmen. The money collected - £130 - will be donated to St Teresa's Hospice.
