Success in Holland: Sponsorship at Home
QE student Jan Gosiewski has just returned from Holland after competing in an international Judo competition. For the first time, on one day, he took part in both an Under 18 tournament and a senior contest and did very well at the two levels.
He had five fights at Under 18 level, won them all and was crowned champion. In the senior competition he had two very close bouts but was narrowly defeated in both. However, he was not disappointed with his performance. He says:
"I was delighted to win the U18 trophy and was pleased that I performed well in the senior competition where my opponents had the physical advantage and were much more experienced; I held my own and was in control for much of the time. This has boosted my confidence and will stand me in good stead for the future."
Jan is also delighted that Acorn Dairy has provided him with sponsorship for the year. This will very much help him with travelling and accommodation costs and kit. A spokesperson for Acorn Dairy said:
"We are very keen to support and be associated with Jan. He is an up and coming local sportsman who our community will follow with great interest and we believe he will be an excellent ambassador, not only for this area but also for the beneficial health qualities of organic milk!"
