Leisure Studies students at QE held a 'Crimbo Bingo' evening to raise funds for an educational visit and to meet the requirements of one of their A Level units of study.
December 22, 2006 - Battle of the Bands
To bring the term to an end and to celebrate Christmas, a mammoth Battle of the Bands was held at QE . Following two heats at the Forum, 16 student bands were whittled down to six for the College final. Playing to an exuberant and enthusiastic audience all the bands gave excellent performances.
December 21, 2006 - Presentation to St Teresa's Hospice
Students at QE do a great deal to support both local and national charities, organising a range of fundraising events. This year they have done much to support St Teresa's Hospice and today were proud to present a cheque for £1159 to the Hospice.
December 18, 2006 - QE Girls in English Colleges' Rugby Team
Following successful trials at Coventry, three QE students won places in the English Colleges' Women's Rugby squad.
December 6, 2006 - Cycling for Children in Need
Students and staff at QE cycled for 6 hours to raise money for Children in Need.
December 5, 2006 - What Am I Looking At? What Do I Think?
A new, exciting evening art course begins at QE in January 2007.
December 4, 2006 - Mount Kilimanjaro
Next weekend, Phillip Moore faces a massive challenge. On 2nd December he travels to Tanzania to join 15 other people and climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Organised by Charity Challenge, Phillip will spend the next 13 days acclimatising and trekking to the summit of the mountain to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
November 29, 2006 - Fundraising Bazaar at Ziza!
A Level Travel & Tourism students held an Italian themed night at Ziza's restaurant to raise money for an educational visit to Rome in April. All aspects of the event were arranged by the group as part of their course and the evening entailed a raffle, quiz, best dressed competition and a promise auction.
November 28, 2006 - Challenges at Brathay Hall
GCSE Leisure and Tourism students challenged themselves by taking part in an outdoor activity day at Brathay Hall in the Lake District.
November 27, 2006 - Languages Roadshow
'It was really useful to find out about different university courses and I very much enjoyed talking to the French students.'
