The Student Association

SAThe Student Common room is the main centre for students to meet and relax with events that are run by the students.
The Servery in the common room offers a wide range of hot and cold food at reasonable prices. Students are also welcome to use the facilities in The Arts Centre which is adjacent to the College.

All students automatically become members of the Student Association. The Association provides funds for many of the events in the Student Common Room and also makes substantial contributions to sports, clubs and societies as well as supporting local and national charities.

Student Association Meetings

It is important that students have an effective voice in the College and take responsibility for their affairs. The Student Association is the body set up for this purpose.

Each tutor group chooses a student representative for the Student Association which meets regularly to discuss matters of interest and concern to students within the College. These issues are then also discussed with senior members of staff. A Student President and Vice President are elected each year and there are other posts on the Student Executive Committee.

Students are encouraged to arrange social events and are invited to join cross-college groups such as the Equality and Diversity Committee and the Health Promotion Committee. There is a Student Sub-Committee of the Governing Body to which student officers contribute and the Student President and Vice President attend Board Meetings of the College Corporation.
