Apply to QE

Each year the College has places for around 1000 new first year students who largely come from schools in Darlington, County Durham, North Yorkshire and Teesside.  This page will give you guidance on how to apply.

We are usually able to offer places to all applicants provided they meet the application deadlines and attain the entry qualifications.   This year’s deadline is Friday 21st January, 2022.  If a waiting list is introduced, it is regularly reviewed throughout the year.

As a college we are very inclusive and try to make the application process as easy as possible.  The process is slightly different and is dependent upon whether you attend one of our partner schools.  Our partner schools currently consist of Education Village, Hummersknott, Hurworth, Longfield, St. Aidan’s and Wyvern in Darlington.  Bishop Barrington, Greenfield, Sedgefield and Woodham in County Durham.  In North Yorkshire our partner schools are Bedale and St. Francis Xavier.

How To Apply

If you are a student from a Partner School, you will receive information about the application process from QE liaison staff at your school.  You will also receive an invite to our Open Events which provide an excellent opportunity to further research your next step.  If you have not received this information you can still apply by requesting an application form to be sent to you or you can apply on-line here. Students will have a discussion about their application with a member of QE staff.

If you are a student from a non-partner school, you can request an application form to be sent to you or you can apply here. We will arrange for you to have a discussion with a member of QE staff about your application once you have applied.  The discussion is an opportunity to discuss with staff progression plans, subject combinations and entry requirements.  Information will also be available about transport routes and financial support.

If you submit an application form and do not receive an acknowledgement within 10 days, please contact the College.
