A positively MAD presentation

For the second year in a row, first year students from QE have attended an inspiring workshop by Shenaz Matadar from Positively MAD. The interactive course, which covers several different topics, allows students to improve their social, personal and academic resilience, in addition to increasing their motivation and desire to succeed whilst at College. During the sessions, students were also introduced to practical study skills and coping strategies through a variety of activities, providing them with the necessary experience to respond to new challenges and situations with confidence. Reflecting on her time with the College, Shenaz comments: ‘It was a wonderful three days of positively madness. The students were exceptional in their focus, participation, enthusiasm and the respect that they afforded me, themselves and each other’. Sarah Griffiths, Raising Aspirations Co-ordinator at QE, adds: ‘As with last year’s sessions, the feedback from students was very encouraging. Shenaz is a popular speaker and the Positively Mad sessions, combined with the wider pastoral programme at the College, enable our students to thrive and achieve success, both in terms of personal growth and within their studies.’
