Alzheimer’s Society cupcake day

Staff and students at QE have once again shown their support for charity by participating in the annual Alzheimer’s Society Cupcake Day. Organised by the College’s Interact Club, several batches of delicious, homemade cupcakes were brought in and sold, ranging from lemon cheesecake to chocolate fudge cake, with all donations going towards research into Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. In total, staff and students managed to raise over £140, which will allow a National Dementia Helpline Advisor to provide 10 hours of crucial support to people affected by dementia.

Nancy Wall, Co-Ordinator of the Interact Club, explains: ‘Almost everybody knows someone who has been affected by dementia, and it is incredibly important that we do as much as we can to find a cure for this awful disease. I would like to thank everyone who supported the Cupcake Day, whether they provided cakes, or simply enjoyed them as the money raised will undoubtedly be warmly received’.
