Budding author, Megan Hodgson is over the moon that some of her work will be published by Writing North on their Cuckoo Young Writers web site www.newwritingnorth.com To add to Megan’s excitement, her work, based on Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, will be released on her eighteenth birthday, October 26. What a birthday present!
Megan explains:
‘For A level English Literature we are studying the wife of Bath’s Tale and were asked to write an account of a personal pilgrimage we might wish to make. My passion is surfing and I wrote about a surf trip to Polzeath in Cornwall – something I would love to do. It was challenging and exciting but I really enjoyed doing it. When it was suggested that we might submit our ‘pilgrimages’ to Writing North , I jumped at the chance and couldn’t believe it when I found out that my work was to be published. My English teacher, Julie Johnson is inspirational and I can’t thank her enough for all the support and encouragement she gives me.’
Megan, from Durham, is applying to read English Literature at Nottingham University.
