Duke of Edinburgh

 Friday 20^th February saw some of our proactive students take time out of their half term break to attend a Duke of Edinburgh meeting hosted by Mowden Park Rugby Club in collaboration with Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College with a guest speaker of Lawrence Dallaglio.

Our students arrived at the club’s ground early in which the Duke of Edinburgh leaders gave a talk to them on what Duke of Edinburgh involves, what’s to be expected and how they could go about getting started in voluntary work. Once this was done the students then enjoyed a bit of light competition in putting up traditional camping tents. Followed by a short rugby session run by Lawrence Dallaglio and two current Senior Mowden Park Rugby players.

All students said they thoroughly enjoyed the day and are now hoping to complete Duke of Edinburgh Award before leaving College.
