QE students presented a cheque for £500 to David Jones, Senior Fundraising Manager for St Teresa’s Hospice.
For the second year running, a group of students working completely independently, directed and performed a magnificent tragedy from the Golden Age of English Theatre: the time of Shakespeare. Last year’s Macbeth was spine tingling and this year’s Doctor Faustus was a magnificent blend of tragedy and raucous comedy.
Staff co-ordinator, Cressida Eastwell, said:
“Their achievement was even more remarkable as many of them had no previous experience. Student directors Daniel Brennan and Nicola Barker led a wonderful team of actors, artists and business managers who achieved a stunning end result and a hefty profit for a charity that is dear to the hearts of many in Darlington. Next year’s students will have the challenge of rising even more with their forthcoming production of the Revenger’s Tragedy.
