Two former Queen Elizabeth students have been selected for the GB Olympic Water Polo Team.

Fran Clayton studied at QE from 2005 – 2007, gaining A levels in Maths, PE and Physics whilst Angie Winstanley- Smith was at the College from 2001 -2002; Angie’s A levels were in History, Maths and PE.

Julia Atkinson- Tait, Head of PE at QE says:
“Everyone at College is absolutely thrilled for Fran and Angie. During their time at QE they were exemplary students and superb, dedicated athletes who combined their academic studies with their rigorous training regimes. They played water polo whilst studying A levels and also represented the College at swimming championships. I’ll now be watching the Olympics with added interest and wish them every success. Well done, Fran and Angie!”

Before studying at QE, Fran was a pupil at Bedale School and Angie was a pupil at Woodham.
