Members of the Interact Club from QE and Darlington Rotary Club came together to say thank you and goodbye to outgoing Interact Club President and Vice President, Danny Brown and Gina Bibby. Danny and Gina have spearheaded some wonderful projects this past academic year including organising an Easter egg collection for the local women’s refuge and collecting over £900 worth of goods for the British Heart Foundation. Nancy Wall, Co-Ordinator of the College’s Interact Club, comments: ‘Danny, Gina and all of the members of the Interact Club have worked ever so hard this year to make a real, lasting difference to the community. Staff and students have fully supported their projects and their dedication to the Club has been outstanding, they should be extremely proud of themselves’.

In attendance to say thank you and bid farewell to Danny and Gina were the Rotary Club’s President, Paul Robinson, Vice President, Mike Challands, Interact Co-Ordinator, Roly Lang, and QE Vice Principal, Laurence Job. The new President and Vice President of the Interact Club, Lancia Lee-Deckard and Tom Makepeace, begin their tenure this September and Nancy is looking forward to working with them. She adds: ‘I’ve already listened to some of Lancia and Tom’s ideas and both are eager to get started with their plans. I feel that they will lead the Interact Club in a great direction this coming year’.
