Posting letters to Post Pals

Travel and Tourism students from QE have been bringing a smile to seriously ill children’s faces by sending them cards and gifts through the charity, Post Pals. Post Pals, run solely by volunteers and endorsed by Children in Need, invites members of the public to connect with children whose profiles are posted on their website and send them cheerful post which can often provide a much needed relief from their daily struggles. The students have each been allocated a ‘pal’ to whom they send a small gift each month and the Interact Club hopes to begin an initiative in the run up to Christmas in which all students from QE send a card to a new ‘pal’.
Nancy Wall, Course Leader for Travel and Tourism and Interact Club Co-ordinator explains: ‘Post Pals is a fantastic charity which the College is proud to support and we are hoping to increase the number of students who get involved and send a card or gift. Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for those with health conditions; therefore, these small gestures will allow us to spread some joy as the festive season approaches’.
