QE and the All Blacks

QE rugby players were thrilled to meet the All Blacks and be coached by them.
Yesterday, the QE squad was involved in a community morning at Mowden Park Rugby Club where they were coached by All Blacks stars Sonny Bill Williams and Sam Whitelock. The All Blacks are using the Northern Echo Arena as their training base during the Rugby World Cup and our players couldn’t believe their luck in having such high profile Kiwis leading their session which was full contact and held on the main arena pitch in front of more than 4000 spectators – quite an experience!
QE’s Sport Development Co-ordinator, Paul Carroll, comments:
“It was a great, once in a lifetime opportunity for our students to meet and learn from the players and staff of the “best Rugby team in the world”. A huge thanks to the All Blacks for giving up their time and really inspiring our players to achieve. It was a day that that the students and staff who went along will never forget.”
QE has strong and developing links with Mowden Park through the Club’s community programme.
