QE’s Class of 1960Date Posted: 16/09/2014 | Posted In: Latest news
A group of former pupils of Darlington Boys’ Grammar School met up for a reunion and to visit their alma mater, now QE. Twelve ‘old boys’ from the class of 1960 returned to QE for an afternoon of reminiscing and to take in the refurbishment and extensions to the buildings on the site in Vane Terrace.
The ’boys’ travelled from all over the country and from France and Canada to meet up and re-live their school days. The Hall and the Honours Boards were of great interest, but the highlight for many was the visit to the clock tower and organ loft where numerous stories were recounted about their exploits.
Organised by Alan Curry, the visit was a huge success and enjoyed by all.
