QE’s English Literature students are on brand

Date Posted: 25/10/2021 | Posted In: Latest news

A group of A Level English Literature students from QE have been given the fantastic opportunity to enter a branding competition courtesy of a local PR agency. Sharon and Jenni from Resolution, a marketing and design company based in Stockton-on-Tees, visited the College and spoke to students about how their studies can prepare them for a career in advertising before launching their exciting competition. The brief revolves around redesigning a book jacket for George Orwell’s seminal text ‘1984’ and the winner will spend a day working in Resolution’s office, watching their brand come to life and running the organisation’s social media accounts.

Looking back on her visit to the College, Sharon comments: ‘It was great to meet the students and discuss possible careers within marketing. We always enjoy getting to know creative young people and it’s fantastic to be working with QE on this competition’. Julie Ashmore, Course Leader for English Literature, adds: ‘We welcome all opportunities to show English Literature students where their chosen A Level courses can take them in the future. It’s also wonderful to have this link with Sharon, Jenni and a thriving local business. We look forward to seeing our students’ competition entries’.

The winner of the competition will be announced later this year.
