QE’s Interact Club Co-ordinator Receives National Award
Date Posted: 24/08/2020 | Posted In: Latest news
Nancy Wall, Interact Club Co-ordinator at QE, has received the prestigious Paul Harris Fellowship Award from Rotary International. The national award, superseded only by being a Rotarian, is given to individuals who have made an exceptional contribution to Rotary service and there have been only a handful of recipients. QE’s Interact Club, part of the College’s supplementary programme and which has a close relationship with Darlington Rotary Club, has raised thousands of pounds for charity and worked with many organisations with Nancy having been the Co-ordinator for two years. In this time, the group has won three national awards, including Rotary National Young Citizens of the Year and Rotary Best Project.
Lorna McDonald, the current Interact Club President along with Kate Biggins, comments: ‘The Interact Club provides fantastic opportunities for students to help their local community. Nancy always has many ideas and is very supportive, she makes everybody feel really welcome. She thoroughly deserves this award’. Nancy adds: ‘I’m delighted to receive this award, but the work carried out by the Interact Club is definitely a team effort. I’m proud of everyone involved and look forward to working with Rotary International for a long time to come’.
Nancy will be awarded with a medal and certificate within the next few weeks.
