QE’s Interact Club spreads Easter cheer

Date Posted: 25/03/2021 | Posted In: Latest news

The Interact Club from QE has continued to ensure that COVID-19 restrictions do not prevent them from supporting the local community by arranging a variety of Easter treats. Each year, the group organises an Easter collection for Darlington Women’s Refuge and this Easter, every child in the refuge has received a chocolate egg due to the generosity of students and staff. The residents of Abbeyfield Society have also been gifted a number of Easter treats to help raise spirits following a year in lockdown and students have designed and delivered Easter activity packs to families registered under Post Pals.

Harry Wise, Interact Club member, comments: ‘This year has been incredibly difficult for us as students, however many people have been in a worse situation therefore we thought it important to try and make them smile’. Nancy Wall, Student Services Co-ordinator at QE, adds: ‘The students have been amazing this year. It is so nice to see their selfless attitude towards the community and how they are always thinking of others, not just during these challenging times but throughout the year’.
