Two QE students – Lauren Baillie and Lily Campbell- attended a Darlington Rotary Club lunch to thank the Rotarians for sponsoring them through their Rotary Young Leaders’ Award.
The Award involves students being interviewed and, once selected, attending an outdoor adventure and team building week to learn new skills. Lauren and Lily thoroughly enjoyed the experience and at the Rotary lunch gave a presentation, shared photographs and fielded questions from the interested audience.
QE Sports Development Co-ordinator, Paul Carroll, explains:
“Lauren and Lily are brilliant young leaders and positive role models for other students. They very much appreciated the opportunity and benefitted a great deal from it. The College and the girls would like to thank Darlington Rotary Club and Dr Mo Sattar in particular for all the help and support they have given.”
At QE Lauren and Lily are studying A Levels and intend to progress on to University in 2015. Lily plans to study paramedical sciences and Lauren would like to become a PE teacher or sports coach.
