The week commencing 17th March was a big week for fundraising through sport. Students really got into the swing of Sport Relief and raised money through a variety of activities.

Sport & Leisure students organised staff versus students’ matches in Head Tennis and Swedish Long Ball, in which the staff teams were victorious. They also organised a “Wacky Wednesday”  with staff and students taking part in various “Wacky” activities such as how many t-shirts could be worn, how many marshmallows could you get into your mouth!!

Friday 21st March saw the Community Sport Leaders Award group organise and run the Sport Relief Mile where staff and students joined together in running and walking the mile during a sunny lunch hour at Abbey Road Playing Fields.

QE Sports Co-ordinator, Paul Carroll, comments:

“Students and the staff really enjoyed raising money for Sport Relief by taking part in a wide range of student led fund-raisers. Everyone enjoyed it and there was a great team spirit as well as a competitive edge between the staff and students!”

A grand total of £439 was raised for Sport Relief.
