Message from Tim Fisher, Principal (April 2021)
Dear Student,
I hope that you have enjoyed your break. As indicated in my previous email, I am writing to inform you of our plans for the return of students after the current holidays.
Following the publication of updated guidance for Further Education providers and the government’s announcement concerning the wider re-opening of activities from Monday 12th April, we now intend to provide on-site education to all students during next week, starting with two year group only days as below:
Monday 12th April – Second Years and Art Foundation students on-site learning. First Years remote learning.
Tuesday 13th April – First Years on-site learning. Second Years and Art Foundation students remote learning.
Wednesday 14th April – All students on-site learning.
College buses will be running at the usual times on all weekdays.
Please note that face coverings must continue to be worn when indoors on the College site, including in classrooms.
From Monday 12th April, the ‘rule of six’ outdoors is being reintroduced nationally. This means that we all must be very aware of the size of any group that we are in. This is particularly important at the front of College, in Stanhope Park and in the Town Centre. All of these areas will continue to be patrolled by the relevant authorities and your assistance in complying with social distancing rules is very much appreciated. With this in mind, please avoid congregating at the front of the College on Vane Terrace and the Stanhope Park wall. By dispersing quickly from these areas you can help others to maintain social distancing in a place where it can otherwise be quite difficult to do so. Thank you, in advance, for your co-operation with this.
Please remember to test yourself before returning to College after the holidays, either the night before, or on the morning of, the first day back and record the results as previously instructed. If you have a positive test result, please contact the College as soon as possible. Please also note that, following the roll-out of home testing, the Sports Hall will once again be available as a student social space from Monday 12th April.
We look forward to seeing you back on site next week.
Yours faithfully,

Tim Fisher
Principal
