Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, David McBride, from Darlington is celebrating after having achieved four A* grades in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths. He will now read Maths at Oxford University.
He describes his experience at QE as ‘really enjoyable with very good teaching despite the challenging year’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Catherine Roberts, from Darlington has secured her place at the University of Sheffield to read History and Modern Languages and Cultures following her success in her A Level results. She obtained four A* grades in History, French, Chemistry and Extended Project.
She describes QE as ‘a great place to study with positive people who will help you through the tricky time that is A Level study’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Peter Gartland, from Darlington is heading to Durham University to study Engineering after obtaining A* grades in Physics, Maths and Chemistry.
He explains: ‘QE has really taken as much stress out of sixth form as possible by providing help with subjects and progression plans’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Rebecca Taylor, from Darlington is moving on to Manchester University to complete a degree in Geography with International Studies. She achieved three A* grades in Sociology, Psychology and Extended Project, and an A grade in Geography.
Reflecting on the past academic year, she comments: ‘Everyone at QE has been incredibly helpful and supportive during lockdown and the results process. My teachers have always pushed me to do well and I have really enjoyed my time’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Thomas Fallais, from Stockton-on-Tees will move on to Durham University to study English Literature and History after having obtained three A* grades in English Literature, English Language and History.
He explains: ‘QE is a lovely, inclusive College with fantastic departments’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Caitlin Shaw, from Cleatlam, County Durham, will begin her career by completing a degree in Pharmacy at Newcastle University. She secured three A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths.
‘I have loved my experience at QE and would like to thank the teachers for everything they have done for me’.
Celebrations are in order for Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Oliver Christie, from Ingleby Barwick who will read Chemistry at Oxford University. He secured three A* grades in Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry.
‘There is so much support at QE, particularly with the UCAS process and Oxbridge. The teachers are also incredibly supportive who push you to achieve your full potential’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Hannah Mullard, from Bellerby, North Yorkshire is celebrating after having obtained a place at the University of Leeds to study Chemical Engineering. She gained three A* grades in Chemistry, Biology and Maths.
‘I thoroughly enjoyed my two years at the College and really appreciate the support that was given during lockdown’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Jonah Younghusband, from Spennymoor has gained two A* grades in Maths and Graphics, and two A grades in Computer Science and Further Maths meaning he has secured his place at York University to study Robotic Engineering.
He comments: ‘QE is a great sixth form with brilliant staff and an abundance of resources.’
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Joe Riordan, from Northallerton did outstandingly well to obtain top grades in five different subjects. He achieved four A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and Extended Project, and a Distinction* in Popular Music. He will study Physics at Imperial College London.
He comments: ‘I have met countless new people during my time at QE and the College provides you with many opportunities to broaden your horizons’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Macy Stasiak, from Darlington has secured her place at the University of Oxford to study English Literature after she achieved two A* grades in English Literature and Politics and an A grade in Philosophy, Religion and Ethics.
Looking back on her time at QE, she comments: ‘The support that I have received with my application to Oxford has been outstanding. Simon Nicholson, Oxbridge Coordinator, was helpful and inclusive and my interview preparation with Tim Fisher, Principal, was very thorough and gave me faith in my application. My teachers have also gone above and beyond to support my Oxford journey’.
It’s fantastic news for Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Thomas Chandler, who is heading to Cambridge University to study Classics. Thomas, from Richmond, obtained three A* grades in English Literature, German and Fine Art and will join Selwyn College.
He explains: ‘I am so thankful for all of the support and care that I have received throughout my time at QE. My teachers, progress tutors and the management team could not have done enough for me and I will be eternally grateful’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Ruby Hargrove, will continue her studies at Leeds University after having gained two A grades in English Language and Psychology and a B grade in Spanish. She describes QE as ‘a great place to focus on your studies, but also to enjoy the social aspect. The staff are incredibly helpful and supportive, particularly the Higher Education and Careers Advisers’.
Heading to York University is Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Cameron George, who obtained three A* grades in Geography, History and Sociology. Reflecting on his time at QE, he says: ‘QE is an amazing College with teachers who really support you and help you to develop life-long skills’.
Progressing to Edinburgh University to study Astrophysics is Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Abigail Charlton. Abigail secured three A* grades in Geology, Maths and Extended Project and an A grade in Maths. She explains: ‘QE has introduced me to my passions and the College has wonderful teachers and a great social life’.
It’s wonderful news for Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Abdullah Alazzawi, who will study Medicine at Sunderland University. Abdullah, who achieved three A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, describes QE as having ‘great facilities’ and ‘excellent staff who always push you to do your best’.
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Wilfred Humphrey, is celebrating after having obtained an A* grade in Geology and three A grades in Maths, Physics and AS Level Chemistry. He comments: ‘QE has great teachers and support regarding progression’.
