Below you can read about how some of our students have performed in their A Level results:

Anish Krishnan
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Anish Krishnan, from Darlington is celebrating after having achieved four A* grades in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths. He will now read Mathematics at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge.
He describes his experience at QE as: ‘A very different experience to high school, it helps build independence, you are treated as an adult. This allowed me to gain so much more confidence for life at university’.

Helen Teward
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Helen Teward, from Staindrop has secured her place at the London School of Economics & Political Science to read History following her success in her A Level results. She obtained three A* grades in History, Law and Psychology and and an A in Economics.
Describing her experience at the college Helen comments: ‘I have loved my time at QE, the atmosphere makes you at ease and is ideal for helping you achieve your goals. I would highly recommend studying here to anyone’.

Daniel Maloney
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Daniel Maloney, from Stockton-on-Tees is heading to Warwick University to study Mathematics after obtaining A* grades in Physics, Maths and Further Maths together with an A in PR&E.
He explains: ‘QE was very enjoyable, I felt I got the best help possible to enable me to move on to the next stage’.

Abi Fry
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Abi Fry, from Darlington is moving on to University of Leeds to complete a degree in Geography with Environmental Maths. She achieved three A* grades in Maths, Geography and Chemistry.
Reflecting on the past academic year, she comments: ‘QE was an extremely supportive environment with teachers that push you to excel. They were always available, ensuring support was there when you needed it’.

Lewis Bowman
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Jake Mendelsohn, from Darlington will move on to Northumbria University to study Psychology after having obtained two A* grades in Psychology & Physical Education and a Distinction* in Sport & Leisure.
He states that: ‘QE allowed me to develop lots of new skills and knowledge. I developed skills such as team work, leadership and communication and gained extra qualifications such as the Higher Sports Leaders qualification’.

Jake Mendelsohn
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Jake Mendelsohn, from Newton Aycliffe will move on to Durham University to study Physics after having obtained four A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, Physics and History.
He explains that at QE he: ‘Had a wonderful time, made many new friends. The teaching staff were always excellent, allowing me to achieve my full potential’.

Fozia Mahroof
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Fozia Mahroof, from Middlesbrough, will begin her career by completing a degree in Medicine at York Medical School. She secured four A* grades in Biology, Chemistry, Psychology and EPQ.
‘The teachers were fantastic and really pushed me to do well. There are lots of resources available and the environment is very good for learning. The careers staff were especially helpful regarding progression to university’.

Alex Taylor
Celebrations are in order for Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Alex Taylor, from Darlington who will read Geography at the University of Manchester. He secured three A* grades in Geography, French and Modern History.
‘I’ve met lots of amazing people and learned a lot of new skills. My experience at QE has prepared me well for life ahead. I’ve created memories that will last a lifetime’.

Kate Abel
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Kate Abel, from Fishburn is celebrating after having obtained a place at Durham University to study Mathematics. She gained four A* grades in Maths, further Maths, Chemistry and Biology.
‘I thoroughly enjoyed my time at QE, the quality of the teaching has been outstanding. I’m really grateful for the guidance and support I have received to help me achieve grades that I’m incredibly proud of’.

Joshua Wilson
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Joshua Wilson, from Sedgefield has gained three A* grades in Maths, Physics and EPQ, and an A grade in Chemistry meaning he has secured his place at York University to study Physics.
He comments: ‘QE has a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere, teachers are always ready to lend a hand and give advice. Overall a very positive and meaningful experience’

Freya Buckley
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Freya Buckley, from Stockton-on-Tees did outstandingly well to obtain top grades in four different subjects. Freya achieved A* grades in English Literature, Philosophy, Religion & Ethics, Film Studies and Extended Project and will go on to study English Language & Literature at the University of Oxford.
She comments: ‘I think QE is made by the people and the passion all of the staff have for their subjects. I never imagined myself going to Oxford but QE gave me the opportunity to see it as something for me. The support and guidance received has been invaluable’.

Ellie McTimoney
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Ellie McTimoney, from Darlington has secured her place at the University of Edinburgh to study Economics after she achieved three A* grades in Economics, Maths and History and an A grade in Further Maths.
Looking back on her time at QE, she comments: ‘A really positive experience, the staff were excellent. I always felt really supported and the environment at QE itself is a great place to learn and figure out what subjects you enjoy most’.

Sophia Hall
It’s fantastic news for Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Sophia Hall, who is heading to Newcastle University to study Media Communication & Cultural Studies. Sophia, from Darlington, obtained three A* grades in Media Studies, Law and Psychology.
She explains: ‘I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time here and thanks to the support of my teachers and a lot of hard work I’m leaving with results which I am proud of. I feel prepared and excited for my future at Newcastle University’.

Carla Abel
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Carla Abel, will continue her studies at Durham University after having gained four A* grades in Maths, Further Maths, Biology & Chemistry. She describes her time here as ‘An amazing 2 years at QE and I’m very grateful for the support my teachers provided. The college has allowed me to achieve the grades I need to progress and I am immensely proud’.

Hope Bailey-Withers
Heading to York University is Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Hope Bailey-Withers, who obtained three A* grades in Maths, Computer Science and Biology. Reflecting on her time at QE, she says: “QE helped me adapt to independent learning, especially over the past year, and has deepened my passion for my subjects”.

Abigail Charlton
Progressing to Edinburgh University to study Astrophysics is Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Abigail Charlton. Abigail secured three A* grades in Geology, Maths and Extended Project and an A grade in Maths. She explains: ‘QE has introduced me to my passions and the College has wonderful teachers and a great social life’.

Abdullah Alazzawi
It’s wonderful news for Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Abdullah Alazzawi, who will study Medicine at Sunderland University. Abdullah, who achieved three A* grades in Biology, Chemistry and Maths, describes QE as having ‘great facilities’ and ‘excellent staff who always push you to do your best’.

Wilfred Humphrey
Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College student, Wilfred Humphrey, is celebrating after having obtained an A* grade in Geology and three A grades in Maths, Physics and AS Level Chemistry. He comments: ‘QE has great teachers and support regarding progression’.
